Multiplying With 11

Multiplying A Number With 11: Using this method we can multiply any number with 11 in one single step. Such type of Techniques of Vedic Maths help us to perform calculations in a much faster way. Mastering such type of techniques is very essential in Competitive Exams where time is very precious

For example let us multiply 92896 and 11

Method: We will prefix a 0 before the number. The number becomes 092896. We will multiply the digit at unit place with 1. This will be the unit place in the answer. Then we will multiply the next number with 1 and add the previous number. The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry. The same process is repeated for the next number.

We will Multiply the digit at unit place that is 6 with

Resultant Number = 6 X 1 = 6

The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry

Answer = 6

Carry = 0

We will Multiply the digit at tens place that is 9 with 1 and add the number at units place. Then add the carry if any

Resultant Number = 9 X 1 + 6 + 0 = 15 + 0 = 15

The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry

Answer = 56

Carry = 1

We will Multiply the digit at hundreds place that is 8 with 1 and add the number at tens place. Then add the carry if any

Resultant Number = 8 X 1 + 9 + 1 = 17 + 1 = 18

The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry

Answer = 856

Carry = 1

We will Multiply the digit at Thousands place that is 2 with 1 and add the number at hundreds place. Then add the carry if any

Resultant Number = 2 X 1 + 8 + 1 = 10 + 1 = 11

The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry

Answer = 1856

Carry = 1

We will Multiply the digit at Ten Thousands place that is 9 with 1 and add the number at thousands place. Then add the carry if any

Resultant Number = 9 X 1 + 2 + 1 = 11 + 1 = 12

The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry

Answer = 21856

Carry = 1

We will Multiply the digit at hundred Thousands place that is 0 with 1 and add the number at ten thousands place. Then add the carry if any

Resultant Number = 0 X 1 + 9 + 1 = 9 + 1 = 10

The resultant number will be prefixed in the answer

Answer = 1021856
